{"id":51,"date":"2012-11-01T05:52:20","date_gmt":"2012-11-01T05:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bestbostonterrierpuppies.com\/?page_id=51"},"modified":"2014-03-23T03:15:33","modified_gmt":"2014-03-23T07:15:33","slug":"choosing-a-puppy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bestbostonterrierpuppies.com\/?page_id=51","title":{"rendered":"CHOOSING A PUPPY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>CHOOSING A PUPPY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">By Janis Huskey<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Before investing in a puppy, it is wise to consider several factors and do your homework.\u00a0 Here are some helpful insights to guide your decision making process.\u00a0 Remember, choosing a puppy is equivalent to adding a family member that will hopefully be with you for a very long time.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What Breed?\u00a0 You may already have a particular breed in mind that you know will be a good fit for your family.\u00a0 If not, do some research and see if any of the most popular breeds of today would be a good choice for you.\u00a0 Talk to other dog owners and ask why they love their breed and why it\u2019s a good fit for their family.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Look at average size; does this size dog do well in your living situation?\u00a0 Does it need more room than you have available?\u00a0 Is it so large that it will knock family members down?\u00a0 Is it so small that it will have hypoglycemic issues (low sugar) or be easily hurt if stepped on or dropped by the three year old?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Time for the dog; if you are gone all day is this a breed that does well being alone for several hours while you are at work?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Exercise needs; is this dog okay with daily play in the back yard or a walk in the neighborhood?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hair Care, does this breed require regular grooming at a groomers? Are you going to have to brush his fur daily?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Food needs, is this breed large and eats a lot?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Temperament, Is this a yappy dog?\u00a0 Are your apartment neighbors going to appreciate all this barking?\u00a0 Is this breed temperamental or not good with children?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Messy, is this breed prone to drooling and slobbering? \u00a0Is your family going to be okay with that?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shedding, how much does this breed shed?\u00a0 Is anyone allergic to the hair\/dander? Will you enjoy watching those hair balls collect under and around the furniture?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Traveling, if you travel often can this type of dog go easily with you? Can it fit in an airline crate under the seat in front of you?
